EU Calls Investors: A Historic Turn for Armenia

The country from a "risk zone" can turn into a key bridge between East and West

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the European Union's call to invest in Armenia is of historical significance. The statement was made at the first Armenia-EU summit in Yerevan, where the parties signed a partnership and connectivity agreement, and also exchanged letters of intent to support investments in six local companies and funds.

According to Pashinyan, since gaining independence, the country has been perceived as risky for investments, but now European partners are demonstrating the opposite approach. This, in his opinion, indicates a serious transformation of the attitude towards Armenia on the international stage.

He also emphasized the change in perspective on the country's geography: if earlier its position was considered a problem, now it is seen as an advantage. Armenia, located on the shortest route between East and West, can become an important transit and economic hub, which opens up new prospects for development and attracting capital.
