13 billion drams for roads: Armenia prepares for large-scale repair of highways and transport hubs

Authorities promise to renovate almost 60 km of roads in several regions of the country as early as 2026

The Armenian government will allocate about 13 billion drams for major and medium repairs of roads in 2026. This was announced by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khoudatyan at a government meeting. The program includes almost 60 km of road surface and several transport interchanges.

According to the minister, the repairs will affect 1 km of interstate roads, 27 km of republican highways, and another 30 km of regional roads. In addition, the project provides for the renovation of three transport hubs, which should improve throughput and logistics in a number of regions of the country.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan clarified that the work is planned to be carried out in the Shirak, Kotayk, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Aragatsotn, Tavush, and Lori regions. The authorities expect that the program will improve the condition of regional infrastructure and increase road safety.
