France and Armenia are elevating their cooperation to a new level, with aviation taking center stage. In May 2026, the Armenian side signed a series of agreements with Airbus concerning both military and civil aviation. These agreements are part of a broader strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Armenian Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters, with the participation of SOFEMA Group. This involves the supply of helicopters to strengthen the country's defense capabilities. Details of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but the agreement is already being called one of the key stages in the modernization of Armenia's aviation infrastructure.
Concurrently, Flyone Armenia airline has reached an agreement with Airbus to purchase two modern Airbus A321neo passenger aircraft. These airliners are distinguished by reduced fuel consumption, increased flight range, and a higher level of passenger comfort.
The deals indicate that Armenia is focusing not only on strengthening security but also on developing civil aviation and international transportation.
