The Netherlands began printing new generation biometric passports for Armenia

Document personalization will be carried out already in the country

In the city of Haarlem (Netherlands), the printing of new generation biometric passports for Armenia has started. A delegation led by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia visited the production site, where they familiarized themselves with the sample manufacturing process and officially launched the production of documents.

The new passports will be equipped with modern security features and comply with international security standards. These are documents with enhanced biometric data and increased protection against counterfeiting, which should raise the level of trust in Armenian passports internationally.

However, personalization – the entry of individual citizen data, including photo, fingerprints, name, and signature – will be carried out in Armenia. This approach separates the production of blank forms and final identification, which allows for increased control and security of the document issuance process.
