Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan delighted the country with good news. In the coming days, large consignments of Iranian liquefied gas will begin to arrive in Armenia – the problem with exports from Iran has been completely resolved. At the same time, uninterrupted supplies from Russia continue, although the price increase there has already affected the Armenian market. This should quickly stabilize the situation and reduce fuel costs for the population.
In early May, a small batch of gas barely covered the deficit, causing panic in the regions. Now the minimum plan has been fulfilled: liquefied gas is available in all regions of Armenia. The average price exceeds 300 drams, but, for example, in Aparan it is already around 240 drams and will continue to decrease. Active work is underway to increase supply volumes from two countries at once.
Previously, border disruptions and logistical difficulties caused serious discontent. Now, however, the authorities are confident that joint efforts with Iran and Russia will fully meet the republic's needs and prevent new price spikes. Armenia is preparing for a calm gas season.
