Production figures for January–March 2026 showed a noticeable mixed dynamic in the country's key raw materials sector. According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the extraction and production of concentrates generally increased in several areas, reflecting growing demand for certain metals in foreign markets and a redistribution of enterprise workload.
The strongest growth was recorded in the molybdenum concentrate segment — up 30.6% year-on-year. Copper concentrate production increased by 20.3%, and zinc concentrate by 13.7%, indicating a sustained expansion of basic mining activity and non-ferrous metal processing.
However, not all areas showed positive dynamics. Ferromolybdenum production decreased by a significant 61.7%, becoming the most notable failure of the period. Experts attribute this decline to changes in the structure of raw material processing and the redistribution of flows in favor of concentrates, which demonstrate higher profitability in foreign markets.
