Average Salary in Armenia Decreased

The financial sector significantly impacted the overall statistics.

The average salary in Armenia in March 2026 showed a 1.2% decrease compared to the same period last year, but the final dynamic was distorted by one-time payments in the financial sector.

According to the Your Beloved Economic Edition channel, in March 2025, record bonuses and premiums were paid in this industry, causing the average figure to exceed 2 million drams. In 2026, there were no such one-time accruals, and the average salary in the sector decreased by approximately 750 thousand drams, which significantly affected the overall statistics.

If the financial sector is excluded from the calculation, the situation looks different: average incomes grew by more than 7% year-on-year. Positive dynamics were recorded in almost all key industries – in trade, growth was 8.8%, in manufacturing 7.9%, in healthcare 14%, in public administration 12.6%, in education 6.8%, in the catering sector 6.1%.

At the same time, income growth in mass and low-wage segments of the labor market partially increased inflationary pressure. According to March data, inflation was 4.5% year-on-year, and in April, it accelerated to 5.3%.
