A batch of 45 new 12-meter Yutong trolleybuses of Chinese production, purchased by the city mayor's office, has arrived in Yerevan. The delivery is part of a large-scale renewal of the capital's public transport, within which it is planned to completely decommission outdated vehicles.
The main feature of the new trolleybuses is the presence of batteries, allowing them to travel up to 60 km without connecting to the contact network. When moving under wires, the batteries are automatically recharged, which makes the transport more flexible and reduces dependence on infrastructure.
Before entering routes, all rolling stock will be equipped with validators for cashless fare payment. After that, the new vehicles will gradually replace the old fleet and will be integrated into the city's transport system, improving the frequency and reliability of transportation in the capital.
