One of the most technologically advanced data centers for artificial intelligence has begun operations in Armenia. Eleveight AI announced the launch of the region's first AI Factory in the city of Gagarin, built on the latest Nvidia Blackwell B300 accelerators, designed for generative AI and high-performance computing.
Initially, the project was estimated at approximately $70 million, but now its cost in the first phase has increased to $120 million. The center belongs to supercomputer-level infrastructure and provides for scaling capacity up to 35 MW, which allows it to be used for training and launching large AI models and complex computational tasks.
According to company representatives, Armenia can become a new global platform for AI infrastructure due to access to modern technologies, qualified specialists, and relatively low energy costs. Eleveight AI states that the project's goal is not only to use AI but also to create a full cycle of model development and training within the country, with further expansion into the markets of Europe and Central Asia. About 20% of the center's computing resources are planned to be allocated to universities and scientific organizations, and the construction of an additional AI data center in Hrazdan with multi-billion dollar investments is also being considered.
