Armenia has set a new record for the number of tourist visits. According to the Tourism Committee, 825,384 tourists visited the country from January to May 2026, which is the best result for the same period in recorded history.

Compared to the first five months of 2025, when 691,882 visits were registered, the tourist flow increased by 19.3%. May also proved to be a record-breaking month: 199,541 people visited Armenia, compared to 181,436 a year earlier, which corresponds to an increase of approximately 10%.

The tourism agency attributes the positive dynamics to the increased attractiveness of Armenia as a travel destination, as well as to the expansion of the route network and the launch of new direct flights. It should be noted that by the end of 2025, more than 2.26 million tourists visited the country, and the authorities expect to reach at least 3 million guests annually within the next 5 years. According to Lusine Gevorgyan, head of the Tourism Committee, in the longer term, the tourist flow could reach 5 million people per year.
