The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund completed the first review of the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) for Armenia, granting the country access to another tranche of approximately $25.1 million.
Following the review, Armenia gained access to 18.4 million Special Drawing Rights (SDR). This brings the total available financing under the program to 36.8 million SDR, equivalent to approximately $50.2 million. However, the Armenian authorities continue to view the agreement as a precautionary support mechanism rather than a source of funds for immediate use.
The new 36-month SBA agreement was approved by the IMF in December 2025. The total program amount is 128.8 million SDR, or about $175 million. The funds are intended to support macroeconomic stability, implement structural reforms, and create an additional financial reserve amidst ongoing global economic uncertainty.
The remaining financing will be disbursed in equal tranches after subsequent semi-annual reviews.
