A new stage of educational development has begun at the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema – a modern color correction laboratory has been opened at the university. The project was implemented with the support of the "Stepan Gishyan" Charitable Foundation, established with the participation of financial and international partners, including ACBA Bank and Credit Agricole. In the new studio, students work with professional DaVinci Resolve software, which is used in the film and television industry.
The system allows students to master key stages of post-production: working with light, color, contrast, image depth, and the visual atmosphere of a shot. In addition, the platform includes tools for editing, sound processing, and creating visual effects, which makes learning closer to the real production process.
According to university representatives, such disciplines were previously practically not taught systematically in Armenia. Now, students, especially those in senior courses, will be able to create higher-quality projects and apply for participation in international film festivals. The institute notes that the new laboratory effectively changes the approach to training future specialists in the field of cinema and television.
