The National Assembly of Armenia approved in the second and final reading a law that establishes unified minimum requirements for the liability insurance of air carriers and aircraft operators. The decision is aimed at modernizing aviation industry regulation and aligning with European norms.
The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the Common Aviation Area agreement with the European Union, signed in 2021. The law is intended to bring national legislation into compliance with EU standards and streamline insurance obligations in the field of air transport.
The document regulates the liability of airlines, as well as the insurance of flight and ground personnel, baggage, cargo, and third parties. In addition, it establishes minimum insurance limits and legal relations between aviation industry participants, forming a more transparent regulatory system in the sector.
