There is no diesel fuel shortage in Armenia, despite potential risks associated with the situation in external markets. This was stated by Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, answering journalists' questions about the potential impact of problems with fuel supplies from Russia.
According to the minister, the republic has already diversified its import channels, which has reduced dependence on individual suppliers. He recalled that during the crisis related to Iran, global gasoline prices rose sharply, but in Armenia, their increase was significantly less noticeable due to the organization of supplies from new countries. According to Papoyan, this strategy has allowed fuel costs to remain relatively low in recent months.
However, official statistics show that prices continue to rise. According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, in May 2026, gasoline in the country rose by 8.9% compared to the same month last year, and diesel fuel by 17.1%. Compared to April, prices increased by 2.9% and 6% respectively.
