The net inflow of remittances to individuals in Armenia through the country's banking system in January–May 2026 reached $1.08 billion, according to data from the Central Bank. A year earlier, for the same period, the figure was $511.7 million, which means an increase of more than 2.1 times.
In May alone, the net inflow amounted to $356.8 million against $238.3 million a year earlier. Overall, the total volume of incoming transfers for five months reached $2.81 billion against $2.3 billion in 2025.
The key sources remain Russia and the USA. From Russia, $1.87 billion was received during the reporting period, and from the USA — $334.1 million. These same countries held leading positions a year earlier, when volumes were $1.51 billion and $266.3 million, respectively.
The outflow of funds from Armenia abroad, meanwhile, decreased and amounted to $1.73 billion against $1.79 billion a year earlier. The main destinations for outgoing transfers are the USA ($281.9 million) and the UAE ($244 million), whereas in 2025, Switzerland and the UAE were leading.
