Armenia has joined the international US initiative Trade over Aid, which aims to develop trade, attract private investment, and enhance the economic resilience of participating countries.
The accession was announced by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan during an international forum in New York. According to him, the new cooperation model emphasizes expanding trade opportunities, investment interaction, and creating long-term economic conditions for growth, rather than financial support.
At the forum, the Armenian side presented the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project, as well as artificial intelligence initiatives, as examples of strategic cooperation with the United States.
Abisoghomonyan noted that Armenia's economic policy is aimed at diversification – expanding access to new markets and transport routes, as well as reducing dependence on individual industries.
As part of the transition to a knowledge and technology-based economy, Armenia plans to develop innovations, support small and medium-sized businesses, and invest in human capital.
The Trade over Aid platform brings together UN countries, the private sector, and international organizations to create a more favorable business environment and stimulate economic growth based on market principles. The initiative officially launched on April 27, 2026.
