The Armenian government will allocate 957.8 million drams (about $2.61 million) for the purchase of high-performance computing resources from Firebird AI. The decision was made as part of a five-year agreement totaling $25 million, concluded for the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure in the country.
The allocated funds will be used to implement a program for acquiring AI resources as part of state support for the technology sector. The obtained computing power is planned to be used by government institutions, universities, scientific organizations, research groups, and technology startups.
The agreement between the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia and Firebird AI was signed in April 2026. The project envisages the creation of a modern data center for artificial intelligence tasks in Hrazdan, which will be built using NVIDIA technologies.
The new infrastructure should provide Armenian developers and researchers with access to powerful computing systems necessary for training AI models, conducting scientific research, and creating new technological solutions.
