The Armenian dram continues to strengthen, and the dollar exchange rate has reached its lowest values in the last five years. In July 2026, the value of the American currency dropped to approximately 366 drams per dollar, whereas recently the indicator was significantly higher.
The decline in the dollar exchange rate is associated with several factors, including the stability of the foreign exchange market, the inflow of foreign currency, and the overall economic situation in the country. According to currency services, over the past year, the USD/AMD pair has decreased by more than several percent, which means the strengthening of Armenia's national currency.
For the population, a strong dram means cheaper imports, lower costs for foreign goods and travel, but for exporters and companies earning income in foreign currency, such a situation can create additional difficulties. Economists note that the further dynamics of the exchange rate will depend on the state of the economy, foreign trade, and currency flows.
