Armenian Authorities Take Step Towards Changing Status of "Electric Networks of Armenia"

No comments were received on the draft decision during public hearings

Public hearings were held at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia on the draft government decision to recognize 100% of the shares of "Electric Networks of Armenia" (ENA) as an object of predominant public interest.

Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan stated that the initiative is related to the strategic importance of the electricity distribution system. According to him, such a status is necessary to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the population, stable operation of social and critical facilities, maintain the stability of the energy system, and protect consumer interests.

As reported by the ministry, during the public hearings, participants did not submit any proposals or comments on the draft. The discussion was attended by the interim manager of CJSC "Electric Networks of Armenia" Romanos Petrosyan, member of the Public Services Regulatory Commission Sergey Aghinyan, representatives of energy companies, media, and the public.
