Armenia to Receive Advanced Nvidia Rubin Chips

The country will become a platform for next-generation AI

Firebird in Armenia is expanding its plans: after Blackwell accelerators, including B300, they intend to deploy NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems in Hrazdan. In total, by the end of 2027, more than 70,000 Blackwell and Rubin GPUs are planned to be installed at the site. Special US export permits are required for the supply of the most productive American accelerators, so not all countries have access to such infrastructure.

Vera Rubin will be the next generation after Blackwell and is designed to power the largest AI factories. The Vera Rubin NVL72 system combines 72 Rubin GPUs and 36 Vera CPUs. According to NVIDIA, one Rubin provides up to 50 petaflops of AI computing, and data exchange speed within the rack reaches 260 TB/s. The platform is designed for huge reasoning models, AI agents, and neural networks with trillions of parameters.

Deliveries of Vera Rubin to major cloud and AI companies will begin in the second half of 2026. NVIDIA names AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Oracle, and CoreWeave among its first partners. If Firebird's plans are realized, Armenia will be among the first countries to have infrastructure based on the new architecture. This could turn a small regional data center into a significant hub of global AI infrastructure.
