Banks in Armenia obliged to provide electronic account statements to clients free of charge

It will now be possible to check balances, accounts, and debts to the bank without a fee

Individuals in Armenia will be able to receive electronic statements about their bank accounts, balances, and the presence or absence of mutual obligations with a credit organization from commercial banks free of charge. This was announced by the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia.

The changes were introduced by the Central Bank Council to the regulation "Rules of Business Conduct for Financial Organizations". The decision was made taking into account appeals and signals received from consumers of banking services.

The electronic statement must be provided to the client free of charge. If it is necessary to receive a paper document, it can also be obtained without a fee – at least once during each calendar year.

The Central Bank believes that the new rules will strengthen citizens' right to receive information about their financial status and make banking services more accessible and transparent.

Thus, clients of Armenian banks will no longer have to pay to receive basic information about their accounts and obligations to the financial organization.
