In the first half of 2026, 70,936 aircraft flew through Armenian airspace. For comparison, in the same period of 2025, the figure was 48,051 aircraft, and in 2024 – only 20,312. Thus, in just three years, the intensity of transit flights in the first six months of the year increased by approximately 3.5 times.
Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan called the country's airspace "the crossroads of the world." The growth of transit traffic means that Armenia is increasingly used as a route for flights between various regions, including between Asia and Europe.
At the same time, a significant part of these aircraft do not land in the country: they cross Armenian airspace along transit routes. For Armenia, this is not only a strengthening of its role in regional aviation, but also an additional source of income for the air navigation system and the state budget.
