Armenia has launched online registration of newborns in polyclinics. To register a child, citizens of the country need to authorize through the national identification platform "ԵսԵմ" (YesEm), undergo identity verification, and then select a medical organization and a doctor. The birth of the child must have been officially registered beforehand.
The father can register the child online only if he is officially married to the mother. For the mother, the existence of a registered marriage is not a mandatory condition. There is also a territorial restriction: the service does not work if the newborn's registration address differs from their actual place of residence. In such a case, parents will have to visit the polyclinic in person.
After the child is registered, the family doctor must contact the parents within a few days and arrange the first home visit. The new service is designed to simplify the process of arranging medical supervision for newborns and reduce the need for personal visits to the polyclinic.
