Construction work on the TRIPP project – "Trump's Route for International Peace and Prosperity" – could begin as early as 2027. This was stated by Armenia's Ambassador to the US, Narek Mkrtchyan, in an interview with Semafor. According to him, the implementation of the initiative is progressing, and the preparation of the feasibility study is expected to be completed by the end of the current year.

The American publication reports that the US government has already committed approximately $201 million to help finance the project. At the same time, the economic development associated with TRIPP is estimated at about $1.5 billion in the long term. Mkrtchyan emphasized the importance of the route for the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, stating that without TRIPP, peace negotiations would be impossible.

Separately, the ambassador commented on the ownership structure of the route's development company. The US government is expected to hold a 74% stake, but according to Mkrtchyan, Armenian state institutions will retain decision-making authority. He also noted that the controlling stake of the American side demonstrates Washington's readiness to remain a key supporter of the project's implementation.
