Starting February 8, 2027, an updated mechanism will come into effect in Armenia to restrict access to foreign gambling websites that do not operate within the established legislation. Access to such resources will be limited by internet providers, and a special interdepartmental commission will compile the list of sites.
The new rules will affect not only access to platforms. Advertising of resources subject to restrictions will also be prohibited in the Armenian internet space. Thus, the authorities intend to simultaneously reduce access to unlicensed gambling services and their promotion among users.
The State Revenue Committee emphasizes that the changes are not directed against legal operators. According to the agency, the new mechanism should increase the effectiveness of state control, create more equal conditions for market participants, and provide additional protection for licensed gambling activities in Armenia.
