Ucom continues a large-scale modernization of its mobile network in Armenia, simultaneously expanding 5G coverage and improving communication quality. According to the company, the new generation network is already operating in 48 cities and hundreds of settlements, and also covers major highways and border checkpoints. Stable mobile communication is available to 94.6% of the country's population.
Infrastructure development includes the construction of new 5G base stations and the phased upgrade of existing equipment. The operator is increasing bandwidth and optimizing network operations, which should ensure higher data transfer speeds and stable connections even under significant load. Ucom notes that investments are aimed not only at expanding coverage geography but also at preparing the network for further growth in mobile internet consumption.
Cooperation with Nokia remains an important part of the strategy. The companies are developing 5G technologies, network process automation, the application of artificial intelligence, and solutions for autonomous networks. Ucom believes that such infrastructure will allow for faster adaptation to increased traffic, the emergence of new digital services, and future technological requirements.
