Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the "Strong Armenia" party and president of the Tashir group of companies, stated that "Electric Networks of Armenia" (ENA) is not for sale. He made this statement in response to a question about the possible transfer of the company to a foreign owner. According to Karapetyan, before discussing a sale, the state must first regain control over the asset.

The statement came after the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia put a draft decision on public discussion on September 9 to recognize 100% of ENA shares as an object of predominant public interest. According to the document, the transfer of the company to the state is planned to be completed by October 2027.

Karapetyan stated that the authorities have already realized the problems with ENA management and are now looking for people capable of effectively leading the company. At the same time, the businessman ruled out its sale. "We could sell, but we will not sell. ENA is not for sale," he emphasized, adding that the authorities had previously failed to recognize the existence of public priority interests and postponed the resolution of the issue until next year.
