OpenAI was among Armenia's largest taxpayers in the first half of 2026. The company, which provides digital and electronic services, transferred 829.6 million drams, or about $2.2 million, to the state budget. In the overall ranking of the country's 1000 largest taxpayers, OpenAI ranked 232nd.
Among international digital sector companies, OpenAI's closest competitors were Google and Meta*. In the first six months of the year, Google paid 503.1 million drams in taxes to the Armenian budget, ranking 387th overall. Meta* transferred 441.2 million drams and was ranked 448th.
Thus, OpenAI significantly outpaced other major American technology companies in terms of tax contributions in Armenia. The gap with Google was more than 326 million drams, and with Meta*, almost 388 million drams.
