Natural gas supplies from Russia to Armenia will be temporarily suspended from September 15 to 25. According to Gazprom Armenia, the reason for this is scheduled preventive and comprehensive repair work on the North Caucasus – Transcaucasia main gas pipeline on Russian territory. The work will last 10 days.
Despite the suspension of the Russian route, gas supply to consumers throughout Armenia is promised to be maintained in full. Gazprom Armenia stated that during the repair period, the country's internal reserves will be utilized, as well as additional volumes of natural gas coming from Iran.
Thus, the temporary cessation of supplies via the main gas pipeline should not lead to interruptions for household and other consumers. After the completion of the planned repair work, Russian gas supplies to Armenia are expected to resume.
