Armenia is launching a school bus system that will allow children from small villages to attend larger schools, including new educational centers in neighboring communities. This refers to settlements where only a few students remain in local schools: for example, Getap has 13 students, and Acharkut has only 10. The state intends to ensure road readiness along the entire route and organize regular transportation.
The first routes will connect Getap with Aragatsavan, Tsapatagh with Jil, Acharkut with Kirants, Aknalbyur with Lusadzor, and Tigranashen with Paruyr Sevak. The distance between settlements ranges from 2.8 to 10.6 km, and travel time is approximately from 4 to 11 minutes. For example, 13 students from Getap will travel to Aragatsavan Secondary School No. 1, and 10 children from Acharkut will go to Kirants School.
Special attention is paid to transportation safety. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan instructed to monitor the condition of roads along the entire route and the qualifications of drivers who will transport schoolchildren. It is also planned to establish requirements for their appearance and clothing. In Tigranashen, the local school currently has no students at all: 11 children from the village already attend the Paruyr Sevak educational complex, which is about 4 km away.
