Engineer and entrepreneur Kam Ghaffarian became the laureate of the 2026 Armenian State Prize in high technologies. The award was given to him for his global contribution to the technological industry. Ghaffarian was the founder or co-founder of companies IBX, Axiom Space, Intuitive Machines, X-energy, and Quantum Space, operating in the space and high-tech sectors.
David Tadevosyan, Minister of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence of Armenia, stated that the award is designed to increase the country's international recognition as a technological hub and emphasize its participation in shaping the global technological agenda. According to him, an important part of the initiative is the opportunity for young specialists and students to directly communicate with leading industry representatives and learn from their experience.

Synopsys Armenia noted that Ghaffarian's professional path aligns with the key idea of the award — transforming bold technological ideas into projects capable of influencing human development. Viva also emphasized the importance of such examples for the younger generation. Kam Ghaffarian will visit Armenia in November.
