Armenia to Allocate 8.9 Billion Drams for Repair of 176 km of Roads

Medium-scale repairs will affect interstate, republican, and regional roads. The government intends to increase the volume of road works with special attention to their quality.

In Armenia, budget funds will be reallocated, and 8.9 billion drams will be directed to medium-scale repairs of roads with a total length of 176.1 km. This was announced by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khoudatyan at a government meeting.

The main part of the program envisages the repair of 113.2 km of interstate roads. Another 33.6 km account for republican roads, and 29.3 km for regional roads.

The works are planned to be carried out in the communities of Aragatsotn, Armavir, Lori, Syunik, Gegharkunik, and Kotayk regions. Thus, the program will cover the road infrastructure of six regions of the country at once.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that when expanding the scale of road construction, special attention must be paid to the quality of work. The authorities intend not only to increase the length of repaired roads but also to ensure the proper quality of road infrastructure.
