Yerevan prepares for construction of new Surmalu metro station

400 million drams have been allocated from the community budget for the design of the station and the preparation of the urban planning concept.

Preparations for the construction of the new Surmalu metro station in Yerevan are nearing completion. This was announced by Aneta Babayan, director of the Office for the Implementation of Investment Programs for the Capital's Development. According to her, two consulting agreements have been concluded: for conducting a feasibility study and preparing a program, as well as for developing an urban planning concept and preliminary designs for the station. Intermediate results have already been received for both directions.

Currently, specialists are finalizing work on the final materials. Final reports are planned to be submitted before early November. After that, the city authorities expect to discuss a specific mechanism for project implementation and proceed to further stages of construction preparation. This involves not only a new metro station but also a comprehensive urban planning investment program for the adjacent territory.
