Armenia is discussing cooperation in artificial intelligence and quantum computing with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS). This was announced by the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence following the visit of Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan to Spain.
During the visit to the center, the Armenian delegation was shown MareNostrum 5 — one of Europe's leading supercomputing complexes. In addition, representatives of the center demonstrated three quantum computers integrated with the supercomputing infrastructure. Such systems can be used for scientific research and solving complex computational problems.
The parties paid special attention to the MareNostrum 6 project — a next-generation supercomputer. Among the discussed areas were the use of European-designed semiconductor chips and strengthening technological autonomy. Specific cooperation agreements and timelines for joint projects were not specified in the ministry's announcement.
