Armenia proceeds to practical implementation of TRIPP project: infrastructure design begins

Railway, road, and energy routes are being developed in Syunik Province

Armenia is proceeding to the practical implementation of the TRIPP project after the ratification process of the framework agreement with the USA began. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting. The day before, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan headed a working group that went to Syunik Province to assess the infrastructure and prepare for design work.

At the first stage, it is planned to develop three directions: a railway, a highway, and energy infrastructure. According to Grigoryan, the route of the railway section has already been determined, and specialists have conducted an additional assessment of the condition of the reinforcing structures. The design of the railway line is beginning, while for the highway, an optimal route still needs to be chosen, taking into account the complex terrain.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the route must be competitive for transit transportation, so when choosing a route, it is necessary to consider construction costs and future operational advantages. In general, the direction of laying power lines is also clear, although some details require coordination. According to Grigoryan, this allows for the start of full-fledged design work in all three infrastructure directions.
