In Armenia, it is planned to invest at least $14 million in the development of physical artificial intelligence over the next seven years. The program will be implemented on a public-private partnership basis: half of the funds will be provided by the state, and the other half by private investors. The corresponding decision has been approved by the country’s government.
The project provides for the establishment of an international-level scientific and educational hub at the intersection of robotics and artificial intelligence. Yerevan State University, the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, and the American University of Armenia will participate in the program together with the “Ba-GIN Science and Artificial Intelligence Center” Foundation. It is planned to engage at least three leading scientists on a long-term basis, more than 12 postdoctoral fellows, and over 60 visiting researchers. Scientific teams of 15 specialists will work simultaneously.

The modernization of the Intelligent Systems and Advanced Control Laboratory at the National Polytechnic University is also planned, transforming it into a research center for physical AI. In addition, another laboratory will be opened. In the first year, the state will allocate 168.4 million drams to the program, the main part of which will go toward researchers' remuneration.
