Armenia considers the development of data processing infrastructure and cloud services as one of the main priorities of state policy. This was stated by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan during his speech at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana. According to him, the development of modern language models and artificial intelligence systems directly depends on access to high-performance computing power.
Grigoryan noted that the country's authorities are betting on the development of human capital, engineering school and technological entrepreneurship. These are the directions that Yerevan considers the basis of future digital transformation. In addition, the government intends to strengthen the link between education, science and the labor market to train specialists for the new technological economy.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the presence of a strong scientific school and professional research teams is becoming one of the key conditions for the safe and competitive development of artificial intelligence. He also stressed the need to create a sustainable educational, infrastructural and institutional base for the development of modern technologies. Against the backdrop of the global AI boom, Armenia seeks to occupy its own niche in the rapidly growing technological sector.
