Armenia is betting on artificial intelligence and is preparing to join the ranks of countries with its own global AI infrastructure.
This was stated by the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan. According to him, on June 1, the Armenian company Eleveight AI will launch the AI Factory data center in the Gagarini community of Gegharkunik region – the so-called “AI factory”.
The new data center will operate on the latest Nvidia Blackwell B300 accelerators, designed for training and launching modern artificial intelligence systems. Investments in the project amounted to $70 million. The country's authorities expect that the launch of the site will be an important step for the development of the local AI ecosystem and attracting international technological projects.
The opening will include an official ceremony, a tour of the data center, and a press conference. In addition, Eleveight AI and the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia will sign a memorandum of understanding. Amid the global artificial intelligence boom, Armenia is actively trying to establish itself on the map of countries developing its own computing infrastructure for AI.
