Armenia's Central Bank Chairman Martin Galstyan stated that Armenia's economy in 2025 showed higher growth rates than previously expected. By the end of the year, the country's gross domestic product increased by 7.2%, which was approximately 2 percentage points higher than the figure set by the government when planning the budget.
According to the head of the regulator, the acceleration of economic activity was particularly noticeable in the fourth quarter. The main drivers of growth remained construction, trade, and the service sector. At the same time, Galstyan noted that the economy continues to show a high concentration of growth in certain sectors, and the final indicators are still affected by some short-term factors.
At the same time, tax revenues to the budget increased, which became additional confirmation of the expansion of economic activity. Against the backdrop of increased domestic demand and the influence of external factors, inflation in the country accelerated somewhat, but in December 2025, it amounted to 3.3%, approaching the target level. The Central Bank believes that the current dynamics indicate the preservation of a sustainable nature of economic growth in the medium term.
