Armenian authorities have taken a step towards changing the status of "Electric Networks of Armenia"

No comments were received on the draft decision during the public hearings

Public hearings were held at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia on the draft government decision to recognize 100% of the shares of "Electric Networks of Armenia" (ENA) as an object of predominant public interest.

Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khoudatyan stated that the initiative is related to the strategic importance of the electricity distribution system. According to him, such a status is necessary to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the population, stable operation of social and critical facilities, maintaining the stability of the energy system and protecting consumer interests.

As reported by the ministry, during the public hearings, the participants did not submit any proposals or comments on the draft. The discussion was attended by the interim manager of "Electric Networks of Armenia" CJSC Romanos Petrosyan, member of the Public Services Regulatory Commission Sergey Aghinyan, representatives of energy companies, media and the public.
