The Firebird AI factory, which is called the largest facility of its kind in the region, has started operating in Hrazdan. The NVIDIA DSX-based site was prepared in less than seven months. The opening ceremony was attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, representatives from the USA and Kazakhstan, and heads of technology companies.
Firebird is already preparing for a large-scale expansion. By the end of 2027, Armenia plans to install more than 70,000 NVIDIA Blackwell and Vera Rubin GPUs, and bring the total capacity of the complex to 300 MW. The project will be implemented in three stages. NVIDIA intends to directly invest in Firebird, which previously received funding from CoreWeave. The funds will be used to build new computing clusters.
The NVIDIA DSX platform integrates servers, networks, power, and cooling systems. According to NVIDIA, it allows placing up to 40% more GPUs in the same area. Firebird has also entered the Kazakhstan market, where it has received 125 MW of capacity. The company expects to expand its international infrastructure to 2 GW by the end of 2028.
