Armenia has received an additional quota from the EAEU Council for the duty-free import of 5,000 electric vehicles in 2026. This was announced by the country's Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan.
The new limit has been allocated amid the rapid exhaustion of the previously established quota of 15,000 vehicles. As of August 5, importers who are not official dealer-distributors have already used 93% of the available volume – only 784 vehicles remained free.
For official dealers, the situation was less tense: they used 58% of the allocated quota, and the remaining balance was 1269 electric vehicles.
Thus, the additional quota should support the supply of electric vehicles to Armenia until the end of the year and prevent the early termination of preferential imports.
