Armenia intends to create a network of ground stations capable of receiving and processing data from satellites, as well as controlling spacecraft. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at the International Space Summit in Paris. According to him, the created infrastructure will be used not only to solve the country's internal problems.
Armenian ground stations are planned to be involved in international space missions, which will allow the country to go beyond its own satellite segment. Thus, Yerevan expects to form an infrastructure that will be able to provide services to foreign participants in space projects.
In addition, Armenia intends to enter the international market for satellite data and related services. According to Pashinyan, this is about developing a new direction in which the country will be able not only to use space technologies for its own needs, but also to export relevant services.
