Russia's participation in the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" project is not being discussed. This was stated on December 16 by the Deputy Chairman of the Armenian Parliament, Ruben Rubinyan, commenting on the Russian side's statements about its readiness to consider possible connection to the TRIPP project.
According to Rubinyan, Yerevan is aware of such statements, but no substantive dialogue is being conducted on this topic. "We are glad that they are ready to discuss it with us. Do you want me to repeat it 160 times: there are no such discussions. I don't answer hypothetical questions," the Vice Speaker emphasized in a conversation with journalists.
The statement was made against the backdrop of active discussion of the TRIPP project, which Armenia is developing jointly with the United States and Azerbaijan. The country's authorities have previously emphasized that the format and participants of the route have already been determined, and any speculation about expanding the project with new parties has no real basis.
The TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) project is a key infrastructure project integrated into the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the mediation of the United States. It envisages the creation of a multifunctional transport artery, including a road and railway, a gas pipeline and power lines, passing through the Syunik region in southern Armenia to connect Azerbaijan with its exclave Nakhichevan. Construction is expected to begin after the registration of a joint venture in 2026.
