The State Revenue Committee of Armenia commented on the publication of the newspaper "Zhohovurd" about the smuggling of tablets and Dyson hair dryers through the Agarak checkpoint. The SRC statement emphasizes that the committee did not cover up its employees and the incident was revealed solely through internal control mechanisms.
According to the SRC, after the discovery of violations, all necessary legal measures were taken, the case materials were transferred to the investigative authorities, and the committee continues to assist the investigation regardless of the positions of those involved.
Earlier, the media reported on the illegal import of 400 iPhones from Dubai into Armenia, a process overseen by the head of the internal security department of the SRC, Garnik Markaryan. The Committee emphasized that all actions of the department are aimed at strict control and compliance with the law.
