Electricity generation in Armenia increased: the country finished 2025 in the black

Output exceeded 9.1 billion kWh, and December showed an acceleration in growth rates

At the end of 2025, the volume of electricity production in Armenia increased by 3.4% compared with 2024. This was reported by the republic's Statistical Committee, which published preliminary data on the energy sector. In absolute terms, electricity generation during the reporting period reached 9,195.3 million kWh.

The most noticeable growth was recorded at the end of the year. In December, electricity production increased by 8.5% compared with December 2024. This indicates a higher utilization of generating capacity and steady demand for electricity during the winter period.

If December's figures are compared with November 2025, the increase was 3.9%. This trend indicates the stable operation of the country's energy system and a gradual increase in generation volumes, which is important both for domestic consumption and for possible export supplies in the future.
