In 2025, Armenia significantly increased its electricity production, reaching 10,010 million kWh — 6.7% more than the previous year. This data is provided by the Statistical Committee of the Republic.

The generation structure is as follows:

  • Hydroelectric power plants produced 2106 million kWh (+6.7%), share — 21%;
  • Thermal power plants — 3360 million kWh (–4.4%), share 33.6%;
  • Armenian NPP — 2914 million kWh (+3%), share 29.1%;
  • Solar power plants showed explosive growth: 1628 million kWh (+66.9%), share reached 16.3%;
  • Wind farms produced only 1.2 million kWh (–3%), less than 0.1%.

The progress of solar generation is particularly impressive: production volume increased by almost 67% compared to 2024, and its contribution to the overall balance exceeded 16%. This reflects the active development of renewable sources, including hundreds of new solar stations and the widespread adoption of autonomous panels on roofs.

The overall production growth of 6.7% ensured the country's energy stability amid increasing demand. Experts note that Armenia is rapidly moving towards diversifying its energy balance in favor of "green" sources.
