The Investigative Committee of Armenia has warned citizens about the spread of fraudulent schemes via Telegram and WhatsApp messengers (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned). Attackers pose as employees of supposedly reliable investment companies and offer participation in "high-yield" projects.

According to the investigation, scammers place advertisements for investment earnings on social networks, including Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned) and Telegram. After clicking on the link, users are prompted to leave personal data, and then they are contacted via messengers and offered to register on websites that supposedly belong to foreign investment companies.

Under the guise of replenishing an investment account, citizens are asked to enter bank card details. As a result, attackers gain access to funds and steal money. The Investigative Committee urged people not to respond to such offers and to report them to law enforcement agencies.
