Armenia Considers Implementing Energy Storage Systems Jointly with Huawei

Special attention was paid to modern solutions in the field of BESS

The head of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia, Mesrop Mesropyan, held a meeting with representatives of Huawei, where they discussed the prospects for the development of electricity storage technologies in the country.

Special attention was paid to modern solutions in the field of BESS — energy storage systems that are becoming key as the share of renewable sources grows. Huawei experts presented the experience of implementing such technologies in Europe and the Baltic countries, noting their effectiveness for stabilizing energy systems, especially with the active use of solar generation.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation. The authorities expect that the introduction of storage devices will improve the stability of the Armenian energy system and reduce the risks associated with fluctuations in electricity generation.
