A new fraud scheme has been recorded in Armenia involving the sending of SMS messages on behalf of the Electric Networks of Armenia. This was reported by information security expert Samvel Martirosyan.
According to him, attackers send messages to users, posing as an energy company, and create a sense of urgency. The text contains a link leading to a fake website where the victim is tricked into giving their bank card details.
The main purpose of the attack is to obtain payment information, after which money can be debited. The expert urges people to ignore such messages and not to follow suspicious links, especially if they require urgent action.
